SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

During the school holiday periods we extend our opening hours or open from 10am, Tuesday to Friday. We also run Holiday courses for children.

Pay and Climb

In school holidays Evolution opens early. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays and all weekend, we open at 10am so the kids can really wear themselves out. Closing times remain the same.

Come along anytime or use our Bouldering area for an unlimited time. This area is suitable for anyone over the age of 6 years old, no experience is necessary but adult supervision is required for all children under age 16. Climbing in this extensive area does not require the use of any ropes or equipment so children have the freedom to climb wherever they like. The Bouldering area is very extensive, offering climbs up to 5.5 metres high. The area has a thick one piece crash mat to cushion any falls. There is even a very dark tunnel to explore. Participants need to bring a clean pair of training shoes or rock boots can be hired from us.

The climbing area replicates real rock with sculpted hand and foot holds exactly the same as you would expect to find outdoors, with cracks, slabs, or overhangs. These sculpted holds never change or are the nearest indoor climbers have to climbing on real rock. There are also holds that bolt on and are changed regularly to create a different experience every visit.

Evolution runs its fantastic Holiday Courses right through every school holiday. Indoor NICAS or outdoor climbing courses are available.

Tuesdays & Wednesdays
National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme (NICAS) - Evolution offers levels 1, 2 and 3 of this nationally recognized indoor climbing award. These two day courses run every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the school holidays. 10am - 3pm. Just £50 per person.

Thursdays 10am – 4pm
Introduction to Outdoor Climbing - Fun days out on real rock for novice climbers. 10am - 4pm. Just £35 per person. 

Indoor Fun Days - Roped Climbing, Bouldering, Abseiling, Leap of Faith and much, much more. 10am - 4pm. Just £35 per person.

Fridays 10am – 4pm
Improvers Outdoor Climbing - For NICAS level 2 holders or as the next step to the Introduction to Outdoor Climbing course. Technical skills and personal coaching from our highly experienced instructors. 10am - 4pm. £35 per person. 

Indoor Fun Days - Roped Climbing, Bouldering, Abseiling, Leap of Faith and much, much more. 10am - 4pm. Just £35 per person.

Please note.. Our fantastic Children’s Academy still runs on Sunday Mornings but is just a supervised session.
